Motorcycle Latch Down System Details

No Strap Transport System
Motorcycle Latch Down System - requires no straps. Just step down, engage the lock, and latch the bike.
EXCEPTION: Safety straps required if the cycle is located crossways on a trailer or motor home lift since this does put added stress on only one side of the clamps at a time.

CLAMPING BAR PLACEMENTS:

• HARLEY DAVIDSON DYNA MODELS: The clamp is placed on the forward part of the frame so it does not interfere when the kickstand is raised.

• HARLEY DAVIDSON SOFTAIL MODELS: The clamp is placed at the rear of the frame so it does not interfere when the kickstand is raised. The brake line is moved slightly to place the clamping bar on the frame.

• HARLEY DAVIDSON FLH & FLT MODELS: The clamp is placed to the back of the center of the frame. To secure, pick up the kickstand with your hand or toe and place it on top of the clamping bar.

• HARLEY DAVIDSON V-ROD MODELS: The clamp is placed at the rear of the frame over the allen screw which bolts the frame together. You can then raise the kickstand.

• BIG DOGS, IRON HORSES, AND SOME OTHER CUSTOM MODELS: It will fit most custom motorcycles with up to 1 ½” frame tubes and 10” – 14 ½” wide. If a frame tube is too low for the base height, a piece of wood can be mounted to the trailer floor to raise the rear wheel of the cycle to proper height for loading into the latches.

WHAT’S IT MADE OF:

BASE AND ANCHOR PLATES ARE ¼” STEEL AND POWDER COATED. CLAMPING BAR IS ZINC PLATED SEAMLESS TUBING. LATCH, LOCK AND ADJUSTABLE SIDE PLATES ARE ZINC PLATED ¼” STEEL. BUSHINGS AND SPRINGS ARE STAINLESS STEEL. ALL 3/8” BOLTS AND SELF- LOCKING NUTS ARE HARDENED GRADE 8 STEEL.

HOW IT WORKS:

ONE SIZE CLAMPING BAR FITS FRAME TUBES FROM 1 1/8” – 1 ¼”; ANOTHER CLAMP FITS 1 ¼” – 1 3/8”; AND ANOTHER CLAMP FITS 1 3/8” – 1 ½”. THESE 3 CLAMPING BARS WILL ALL ADJUST IN WIDTH FROM 10” – 14 ½”. A NARROW CLAMPING BAR WILL FIT THE SPORSTER MODEL AND ADJUSTS FROM 4 ½” – 7”. FOR THE CLAMPS TO WORK, THERE MUST NOT BE ANYTHING BELOW THE FRAME. YOU NEED A MINIMUM OF 2 ½” IN THE AREA ON THE SIDES OF THE FRAME FOR THE CLAMPS TO FASTEN. THE CLAMPING BAR SHOULD FIT IN FRONT OF THE KICKSTAND OR FAR ENOUGH BEHIND IT SO THAT THE KICKSTAND CAN BE RAISED WITHOUT HITTING THE CLAMP. IT WORKS VERY WELL ON ALL HARLEY DAVIDSON MODELS EXCEPT THE BUELL. THIS SYSTEM ALSO WORKS ON APPROXIMATELY 99% OF CUSTOM MOTORCYCLES. IT WILL FIT SOME METRIC MODELS.
