Using the Strapless Motorcycle Clamp

DETAILED INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE SHIPPED WITH EACH UNIT.

THIS PRODUCT IS ONLY AS STRONG AS THE FLOOR IT IS MOUNTED ON. IF IT IS TO BE MOUNTED ON A PICK UP FLOOR OR A FLOOR LESS THAN ¾” PLYWOOD STENGTH, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU RE-INFORCE THIS SURFACE. MAKE SURE THE FLOOR DOES NOT FLEX. IF YOUR MOTORCYCLE HAS MOVEMENT SIDE TO SIDE, THIS INDICATES THAT YOUR FLOOR STRENGTH IS TOO WEAK AND SHOULD BE RE-INFORCED.

THIS PRODUCT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO BE INSTALLED CROSS-WAYS IN A TRAILER OR ON A MOTORHOME LIFT AND USED WITHOUT SAFETY STRAPS. USING IT CROSS-WAYS PLACES TOO MUCH STRESS ON THE CLAMPS ON ONE SIDE AT A TIME.

MOUNTING THE BASE:

CENTER THE BASE FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND MARK THE FLOOR FOR 5/8” BOLT HOLES. USE OUR PROVIDED 4” X 6” ANCHOR PLATES WITH 5/8” NUT WELDED TO THE PLATE FOR THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TRAILER FLOOR. USE CARRIAGE BOLTS IN THE 3/8” HOLES IN PLATES TO KEEP PLATES FROM TURNING. THIS WAY, YOU CAN REMOVE THE BASE FROM THE TRAILER IF DESIRED.

LOADING YOUR MOTORCYCLE :

WITH CYCLE ON KICKSTAND, CLAMP BAR TO FRAME LIGHTLY IN THE AREA PREVIOUSLY MARKED ON THE FRAME TUBES AND HAND TIGHTEN ONLY, DO NOT USE TOOLS. THEN RAISE THE KICKSTAND. THE BAR MAY BE CLAMPED ON THE CYCLE BEFORE LOADING, WHICH MAKES IT EASIER IF THE BAR CLEARS WHEN YOU RIDE ONTO THE RAMP OF YOUR MOTOCYCLE TRAILER. IF IT DOES NOT, YOU HAVE TO CLAMP THE BAR ON THE CYCLE AFTER ENTERING THE TRAILER. JUST RIDE THE CYCLE INTO LATCHING BASE (MAKE SURE THE LATCHES ARE OPEN ON BASE), AND IT LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY. IF ONE SIDE DOES NOT LATCH (IF CYCLE IS NOT LINED UP PROPERLY), UNLOOSEN THE CLAMP BAR APPROXIMATELY 2 TURNS AND JUST KICK THAT SIDE WITH YOUR FOOT TO LATCH. AFTER BOTH SIDES ARE LATCHED AND LOCKED, BE SURE TO RE-TIGHTEN CLAMP BAR.

UNLOADING YOUR MOTORCYCLE:

JUST STEP DOWN ON THE LATCHES TO RELEASE. MOST RIDERS CAN RELEASE THE LATCHES WHILE SITTING ON THE MOTORCYCLE. RELEASE THE LATCHES WITH YOUR FOOT ONE SIDE AT A TIME. THE CYCLE WILL MOVE BACK ABOUT ¼”. THE BASE WILL HOLD THE CYCLE UPRIGHT UNTIL YOU MOVE IT ANOTHER INCH BACK. BACK OFF THE TRAILER, LOWER THE KICKSTAND AND REMOVE THE CLAMPING BAR FROM THE CYCLE. YOU ARE READY TO RIDE!

PLACING CLAMP
DYNA MODELS: The clamp is placed on the forward part of the frame so it does not interfere when the kickstand is raised.

SOFTAIL MODELS: The clamp is placed at the rear of the frame so it does not interfere when the kickstand is raised. The brake line will have to be moved slightly to place the clamp.

FLH & FLT MODELS: The clamp is placed to the back of the center of the frame. To secure, pick up the kickstand with your hand and place it on top of the clamping bar.

V-ROD MODELS: The clamp is placed at the rear of the frame over the allen screw which bolt the frame together. You can then raise the kickstand.

CUSTOM MOTORCYCLES: It will fit most custom cycles with up to 1 1/2” frame tubes and 10” - 14 1/2” wide. If a frame tube is too low for base height, a piece of wood can be mounted to the trailer floor to raise the rear wheel of the cycle to proper height.
